In this session, each member is invited to share recent developments and activities related to Moodle at their institution over the past few months. To prepare for the exchange, participants are asked to fill in their updates in the dedicated section of the SAMoo Moodle course (hosted by UniL) ahead of the meeting. During the session, there will be an opportunity to highlight key points, raise questions, and discuss specific topics of interest or common challenges. This is a valuable moment to learn from one another and strengthen collaboration across institutions.

Plus we will make sure to have enough time for four feedback, suggestions and general discussions.

We will then explore the topic of verified credentials and Swiyu, focusing on Switch's role, what we are currently working on, and our perspective on the future of this evolving space. Following that, we’ll share some updates on Switch Sign, particularly in relation to the harmonization of ZertES and eIDAS standards. Finally, we’ll open the floor for questions and an open discussion.

Since 2020, Andrea Bertino is Senior Project Manager for Open Science and Research Data at Switch. After completing his PhD in philosophy, he worked as a research assistant in Greifswald and Regensburg. He then joined the University Library of Göttingen, where he was involved in projects on open access publishing platforms and digital humanities. He is currently leading the Connectome project, which aims to facilitate the exploitation of open data from academic and non-academic domains.
As Head of Community Management at Switch, Claudia Lienert has been responsible for developing business relationships with the Swiss education, research and innovation community since March 2023. Prior to that, she held various management positions in the IT and transport industry and completed an Executive Master of Business Administration at the University of Strathclyde.
Rolf studied computer science and psychology at the University of Fribourg and then worked for the national Swiss Virtual Campus project. He joined Switch in 2007 and was initially responsible for setting up the e-learning section. Since 2013, he has been working on the then called Swiss edu-ID. He was involved in the design of the service and then with its development and introduction at universities. He has been the product owner for Switch edu-ID since 2018.
Tereza is the Head of Digital Communication and Events at Switch. She leads a team that organises impactful community events and advances the organisation's communication strategies. Additionally, she serves as the eduhub Community Manager, overseeing the annual eduhub days, coordinating Special Interest Groups (SIG), and managing the Swiss Academic Moodle Community (SAMoo).
As Product Owner of the TRUST Circle at Switch, Davide Ravasi is responsible for Switch PKI, Switch Sign, and Switch Verify. Before joining Switch, he worked at SwissSign AG, where he gained extensive knowledge of the PKI, Digital Sign, and Identity Provider market. His experience in the trust services sector enables him to drive innovation and ensure high standards of security and compliance in digital identity and authentication solutions.
Renato has been with Switch since 2008 and began his career as a software developer. Over the years, he has held various positions and is now responsible for two circles as an agile coach. In addition to his role as an agile coach, Renato is also the product owner of Switch OER. In this role, he drives the development and implementation of the OER repository at Switch.
Geert joined Switch in 2018 with a background in international product management. Over the years, he has guided several new product developments, introduced and trained several processes, created numerous new Switch tools for product managers, and is now responsible for Switch’ Product Portfolio Board. As the product manager of Switch OER, he drives the business and marketing aspects of this service.
Kamran Naim has more than 20 years of international leadership experience as an Open Science strategist. As Head of Open Science at CERN, the world’s largest research laboratory, he leads a diverse portfolio of activities which includes the development of OS policies, their implementation and governance, while also managing the operations of flagship programs. He also serves as a Director of the European Open Science Cloud Association (EOSC-A), a multi-national pan-European effort to focused on developing the next generation of scientific infrastructures.
Joonas Kesäniemi works as a software architect for the IT Centre for Science in Finland. For the past three years he has been working on FAIRCORE4EOSC project and the Metadata Schema and Crosswalk Registry component, which uses knowledge graphs to tackle mapping related challenges. He also co-chairs a Research Data Alliance FAIR Mappings working group and patiently works on his PhD project in semantic web and knowledge data management. Before joining CSC he spent more than a decade in public and private organizations implementing production systems and more experimental projects in roles ranging from developer to tech lead.
Since the beginning of the year, Christian Rohrer has officially put on the PO hat for eduroam, for which he has been technically in charge since his return to Switch in 2020. In this position, he recently introduced two new products in the 'ROAM' family: eVA (eduroam Visitor Access) and govroam. With a background in neurobiology and interaction design, Christian enjoys working on interfaces, be it with counterparts made of flesh or silicon.
